The US Treasury market experienced notable movements following the release of stronger-than-expected GDP data for the third quarter, which reported a growth rate of 4.3%, surpassing the anticipated 3.3%. This robust economic performance exerted pressure on the Treasury complex, particularly at the front end of the yield curve, as it reduced the perceived necessity for further Federal Reserve intervention. Consequently, yields rose across various maturities, with the 2-year yield increasing by 1.29 basis points to 3.528% and the 10-year yield edging up by 0.20 basis points to 4.169%. In terms of monetary policy, market-implied pricing for Federal Reserve rate cuts has been adjusted. The probability of rate cuts in the near term has decreased, with January pricing now at 3 basis points, down from 5 basis points previously. This reflects a shift in market sentiment following the GDP data, despite calls from US President Trump and NEC Director Hassett for lower rates.

The NY Fed's Reverse Repo operations saw a significant increase in demand, rising to USD 5.893 billion, indicating heightened liquidity management by market participants. Meanwhile, the Effective Federal Funds Rate (EFFR) and the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) remained stable, suggesting steady short-term funding conditions.
